The second-hand marketplace Users Voice Displeasure About Size Modifications

Members of the platform have expressed outrage after an update resulted in products showing incorrect sizing.

This online marketplace has revised its measurement guidelines for women's and children's clothes without notifying all shoppers about the modification.

Online Platforms Reaction

Many shoppers and sellers are posting online saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification.

Vinted explained the new system was more in line with other platforms.

It has advised users to examine their items and adjust the sizing manually where appropriate, which has left users frustrated.

Size Classification Modifications

Previously, the measurements included one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10.

The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10.

With some products, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18.

User Accounts

Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.

Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as size 20–22.

"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she explained.

Required Changes

Charlotte Lunn, based in Derby, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item".

"This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she stated.

Marketplace Information

The platform boasts over 100 million users, comprising 18 million UK members.

It has emerged as a preferred choice to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.

This isn't the first time when a surprising modification on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, the service retracted a modification to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
