I'll overwhelm 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off — Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified title holder Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will injure his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their size difference on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
